SEO - Tips and Tricks

  1. Title Tags - Title tags are those bits of your HTML Meta code that would tell the browser what to display at the top of the screen whenever you open the website in a window. This bit of text is important to search engines such as Google because it would provide them with a bit of insight as to what that particular page might be about. This is why it is important for you to pay extra attention to it. Make sure that you only include relevant keywords on your title and that it appropriately relates to the page's content. Make sure that you don't have the same title for every page as this could only negatively affect your page. Instead, make sure that you have a variety of keyword phrases on your title tags that would identify the contents of that page properly. This should help search engines understand the pages better and rank them accordingly.
  2. Page Name - Whenever you are naming pages on your website, make sure that you make use of plain English as much as you can. If you use WordPress, you would be able to see how they extensively use this trick when it comes to their blog software. This isn't surprising at all since it is a well known fact that WordPress is one of the best blogs for search engine optimization. Yes, having a longer page name might seem a little distracting for some but it is better because it provides more description as to what the pages might be about and as such, makes it easier for search engines to discover them.
  3. Keyword Density - This is perhaps one of the most important aspects of search engine optimization. After all, search engines are actually computer programs that are digesting your website and simply trying to figure out what it might be about. Most of the time, they count up the words and look for any repeats. After which, they would calculate the density of particular words and phrases that are found in your content. Through this process, they would be able to gather information and understand the most important themes of your pages. Try doing it for yourself. Observe your posts and keep tabs on the words or phrases that you use most often and you'll be able to see patterns as well. Just make sure that you don't overuse this to the point that your content becomes unnatural.
